Pretty, White Ginger Jar with lid, decorated with pink, yellow & blue flower motif.
This small Jar will make a perfect addition to your vintage English Fine Bone China collection originally used for storage of tea leaves.
The Ginger jar originated China in the Qin Dynasty when they began exporting to Europe in the 19th Century, at the same time they were used as decorative objects too. They were originally used to storing and transporting spices, which were very expensive at the time. They were displayed on shelves and mantals.
Quality fine bone china lidded Ginger Jar by Coalport based in the pottery area of Staffordshire. The 'Ming Rose' pattern was in production between 1970 and 1993. Standing approx 17cm high
In great pre-owned, used condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. Minor crazing on the base as in the photographs.
